I thought the affair was supposed to be something that happened and went on for a while? Based on the texts with John, "it's been too long" or something like that.
Ooh if it's not cheating and it's actually some non-sexual intrigue that John has been involved with and he feels guilty about for some reason, then I am actually on board. (Not with the fridging but with the calling the woman on the bus plotline). Thanks for pointing that out.
There was a lot of great humorous moments, particularly with Lestrade and with John and Mary, all teasing each other which was nice. I especially liked the scene with the dog Tobt :)
I think Molly is just helping John take care of the baby--he's going to need a full time nanny but probably her and Mrs. Hudson are baby sitting big time.

I also wish they had kept Mary around longer.

Mycroft scenes were a delight.
