I had friends here in KS who bred them, they had this little 3 bdrm house and 9, seriously, 9 newfoundlands! You couldn't walk anywhere. But they sure loved to jump onto you and slobber on your face.

9 Newfs?? I can't even imagine how much drool that must be. And fur. With 1, I could honestly vacuum and mop the floor everyday (although I don't) It used to bother me, but I soon learned that to have a newf meant drool spattered walls and tumbleweeds everywhere. It goes with the territory. There is no such thing as a spotless house.

We had to train Sasha and Copper to respond to a 'clicker' we leave by the door, so that when we click, they know that if they come in, they get a treat.

Good luck with that and Mavvy, though.
