i think being a yoga instructer is a great idea because
1. it pays well (yoga instructors here in NM charge about 12-15 dollars a class and you've got a minimum of 8 people in a class (and usually much more than that) so at the bare miniumum you're making $96 an hour.
2. if you can encourage people to be healthy as a profession.. i mean.. come on.. how rewarding is that?
is this something you're qualified to do?hakaizouJune 6 2002, 22:45:05 UTC
What style would you be teaching? I wouldn't consider teaching something like this unless I had years of experience, knew the art inside-out (analyzed asanas and how a sequence balances itself via counterstretching, etc.) and had some training under a master who taught me how to teach. I've taken some classes that left me feeling terrible afterward due to improper "grounding." It would be also good to be familiar with at least one Eastern medical system (Ayurveda in particular, or Tibetan or Chinese medicine) to understand what the asanas do to the internal energies of one's body.
