Dear EG, did you use the box relaxer? Which brand? I've always wanted to try a relaxer for my cowlicked crown, but I'm afraid it will fry my already fried hair.

i used gentletreatment: no-lye conditioning creme relaxer, the regular formula not the super. it was actually really gentle on my hair, which has been fried from using a blowdryer and hair iron all the time. it actually feels more conditioned now, because they give you a really good deep conditioner in the box and the treatment has aloe in it to moisturize. i highly reccommend it. it looks like it does whenever my hairdresser gives me a blowout. and it only cost about $7.50. jesus, i sound like a commercial, but i am really happy with it. it's so bouncy and shiny and straight!

My hair is always relaxing. If only I could get that veritable army to be productive.

Hi, I hope you don't mind me posting in your journal. What does a relaxer do to your hair?

Thanks

i don't mind at all. a relaxer is like the opposite of a perm. if you have curly hair, it makes it straight, so you can wash it and just leave it alone without having to spend hours beating it into submission, as i had to.

Hi, thanks. I think it's funny that I'm asking you questions about hair products while I'm doing a project on the Western ideals of beauty.

So you like straight hair? Cool.

Later!
