You were trying to, I know.
And now you know why I was so worried about you...a little late for me, too, I guess...

So what? You're something like a liason? are you a ghost? or your flesh is still there?
Can't understand...
Anyway I'm happy you're back. Missed you.

I'm here. Just not quite as alive as I might like.

I hope you won't be up to your old tricks again, darling, because when Angel knows you are immortal and you have to bother him for eternity, he may just kill you for laughs, kinda like your old basement demon buddy.

"I'm sure he thought he was through with me after he had his flunkie shoot me down." --- I still feel really bad for Lorne since he had to shoot you and live with having killed you. He didn't want to kill you and I'm fairly sure you didn't wanna go out like that, whineing like a little bitch about it not being Angel who got to kill you, I mean.

Oh I'm just overflowing with pity for Lorne. If he didn't want to kill me, why the hell did he pull a gun and shoot me?

And before we start talking about me "whining like a little bitch" how about we see how you react when someone shoots you in the chest after you just risked your neck helping them out, ok?

It was a favor to Angel, the one thing he needed that Lorne could provide to help. Well, besides babysitting services for Eve, of course. I don't blame Lorne. He made the right choice. Babydoll, you deserved it on a lot of levels. I think even you know that.

And yes, I concede, I would probably whine a lot more than you if I had 3 bullet holes in my chest.

Considering that you weren't actually employed by Wolfram & Hart for the last several years of your life, and in fact quite emphatically resigned from them back in 2001, I'm a bit surprised that their contract is still enforceable. Perhaps you should take your cue from Angel himself and file a counter suit against them to secure your freedom. Of course, emancipation from Wolfram & Hart wouldn't make you any less deceased, and thus there's no guarantee your spirit-self wouldn't end up somewhere equally unpleasant.

I didn't resign.
I walked out of the building, I turned down a promotion, and I shot up a board meeting, but I didn't resign.
It's not easy to void a contract like I've got. Not at all.

You make a great move, that time.
It had been very proud of you...But I guess you're chained to them...well, not chained in the real meaning of the word but...Oh, leave it!
Anyway there's nothing you can do about it, isn't it?
