It was a conversation I heard on this familiar. So I'm not sure who was talking.

Don't bother with the act. I've filtered this message so the others won't hear it. You still haven't caught on, have you?

Nothing special. Just need a few wires.

Oh...I did not know that experiments in machinery could be conducted in this place.

Um, ye~ah, that's why I need wires.

That would be me.

It's not finished yet. I had to stop work because of the freeze. But when it's over, it shouldn't take more than a couple of days. I will, however, need to construct tools before I can start on anything else, so it may be longer.

If it's wires you need, that can be done more easily. I'll need to know the diameter of the filament and what material you want them made out of. Options are limited. I have to melt down supplies that are already here in order to get metal, as this prison probably doesn't have ore, and even if it did, it'd be quickly mined out.

YES. I mean.... yes, yes that's fine. Um... *cough*... I think... copper should work just fine, it's... I've seen a copper teakettle or two around here. As for the, um, filiment diameter, let's see...

[fiddling]

1/20 of a millimeter should work about right. I cooooouuuuuuuld.... bring you a sample? I have some. I could show you what the insulation looks like in case there's a chance of being able to make that.

Insulation? I'm not sure what you're talking about. Bringing a sample is probably a good idea, because I don't recognize the measurement you're using. And yes, there's plenty of copper.

Bring it by when the freeze breaks. You don't want to go out while it's cold.

Yeah, people have said that. Some guy in a robe, right? Grabs people. Sounds scary. I'll stay inside.

Sooooo, that's okay then. I guess I'll see you... when the snow melts. Which I'm guessing won't take three months? Since everybody keeps talking about when it breaks.
