We've been studying the poem "The Vanity of Human Wishes" by Samuel Johnson in my 18th century British literature class. Basically, Johnson says how futile it is for human beings to have hopes and dreams. So, I have incredibly detailed dreams all the time. As in, almost on a nightly basis. Lately even more so than usual, it seems, these dreams are EXTREMELY vivid and realistic...well, as realistic as dreams can be, I suppose. Out of curiousity, I set my calender back to 2004 to see what date the last Sunday of January was then. My hunch proved right. Yesterday was three years to the day since my last serious relationship ended.

EDIT: Also realized that yesterday was one year and eight months since we started dating.

....so I put in my Hairspray soundtrack while getting ready, thinking that singing along to it would take my mind off Bat Boy (which I can't get out of my head) and cheer me up ( Read more... )
