Tutorial: Masking

sweetpasta wanted tutorials on some icons, but I used mask brushes on those, so maybe I thought I'd explain what masking is used for before doing the tutorial. I'll do the tutorial tomorrow, because three posts in a day is not good. :D

Pretty ! I knew how to use masks but I didn't know the use of white :o
I know how to use the brush on white layer like you did on the last. But I always set the white layer on screen !

Oh, the white to colour it back? Yep! Like in that last layer... let's say you don't like the look, just colour everything white again on the white layer and use the black brush on another part.

You can also create a layer and fill it with any colour aside from white, and then create a mask layer before using the brush on the mask layer. :D
