Lots of stuff going on lately.  Jack is potty training, David got a new job (he starts tomorrow!), we bought a new car (Honda Civic).  I've been busy writing all over the place and work is busy, too.  I'm going to BlogHer in August in New York and excited.  Another busy year ( Read more... )

It probably doesn't seem like it because you have always been able to eat what you want, when you want, without gaining a pound, but once you change your eating habits, it just becomes part of how you live. Who told you that you destroyed your metabolism?? You had a kid. That changes everything about your body. You lost so much because you breast fed and were so stressed; now that you're not nursing, your apatite and habits probably stayed the same, only now your body chemistry is different and you aren't burning an extra 500+ calories/ day breast feeding ( ... )

I went on a blitz after writing this and tracked all my foods for the days I had missed...I'm still not eating enough BUT I'm gaining like crazy because of the amount of wine I drink these days (like I'm drinking half my calories!).

And yeah - I totally don't eat the WW foods. I eat fresh stuff mostly since David cooks (and when he doesn't I generally have an organic pbj on whole wheat). I eat yogurt for breakfast and a granola bar for lunch, which are pretty much the only processed foods I eat on a regular basis.

So yeah, it'll make a gigantic difference if I simply cut down on wine (*cries*) and also drink regular coffee rather than mochas.

Ya, drinking calories makes a huge deal. Also, try to eat a more balanced lunch. Having only carbohydrates (granola bar) for lunch will lend toward snacking later, and do crazy things to your blood sugar and your metabolism.
