In the past day on LiveJournal I saw 5 posts of people complaining or saying that bad things always happen to them. I feel compelled to say that that is plainly bollocks- bad things happen to all of us, and also that things which on the surface appear to be bad, may end up having very positive effects ( Read more... )

Looking back at this, why bother recording the boring details of my life for internet posterity?

I'm sick of bemoaning my lack of capability to do x,y or z. Nobody is stopping me from gaining knowledge or experience but myself. I have resources available to me (a whole university library, for starters) and if I want to be improve my knowledge and understanding all that's needed is for me to put the time and effort into getting where I want.
