ATTENTION MALE LJ FRIENDS: I require your assistance. Due to recent events and tonight's conversation I've decided to take the following poll:

How do you feel about girls making the first move? Hot or not? Attractive or intimidating? It was pointed out to me that if a guy can't deal with a girl being bold enough to make a move, then maybe they' ( Read more... )

I know what you mean, it made some good points about not wasting your time with guys who really don't make the effort, but otherwise I think it's just made me too self-conscious (whenever I start thinking about it I'm reminded of the SITC where Berger explains it to Miranda, and then it explodes in her face).

Hot and attractive respectively. :)

Not intimidated if the girl makes the first move. Although, I won't even pretend that I represent the entire male species. ;)

*snuggle*

We could just make it an epic anniversary, from the 12th-14th...if that would satisfy the argument. =P

i remember during a sex ed class with my grade 8 teacher, she said "if you wait for mr. perfect, he'll come - don't settle" and it's SO true! from my experiences and my friends/family, anyway. so i guess i'm saying there is a middle ground, but you might not stumble across it right away - i think everything happens for a reason

as for whether a girl should make the first move or not, you'll know. i think it's different in every relationship, sometimes it feels right and sometimes it doesn't, so just go with what you feel :)

Dave's got a good point that it doesn't represent all of the guys in the world, but quite a few of them (myself included) wouldn't mind if the girl made the first move. As one of your friends have already mentioned, if a guy gets the "I just want to be friends" back from a girl too much, they become a paranoid dater themselves, and that might be why they don't ask you out.

Hot and attractive are the answers to your questions...although I'm sure if the guy is easily intimidated, he will get intimidated by that. But then that's just a matter of having an idea of who you're dating.

If more girls asked guys out, then I think there'd be less breaking up, because instead of the girl settling for the guy that asked her, she could say no to taht original guy and go out and get the guy she wants. More power to you!
