Sadly, it is prescription only in NZ - meaning that it is illegal to possess without a prescription. Bugger.

Precisely. I mean, Viagra is basically recreational; why isn't this?

The answer is probably that despite using it for twenty years, they're not quite sure about side effects yet. And just a general philosophical disagreement with using medication to enhance your life (except for elderly men, of course).

ZOMG- I want some of that. Afterall I'm legally ALLOWED to self medicate with alcohol, till I throw up if I feel like it, which has known long term health repercussions (cancers, liver damage etc) and which doesn't make me at all smarter or more productive.

Provigil is a brand name, the drug itself is Modafinil.

Talk to my eldest son about it, he used to use it before it became classified.
