I have now finished running DELTA GREEN: Future/Perfect part 1. The first two session went pretty well, with an escalating sense of weirdness as the Agents uncovered more and more of what was goign on. A couple of months ago, my old, reliable HP Deskjet 540 ran out of ink. Looking at the marginal costs, it was only twice as expensive to buy a multifunction colour printer/scanner/copier as to replace the ink. I've spent the evening in the typical fashion for a Friday: cooking dinner, drinking wine, talking about gaming. There were plans to start watching season two of The Shield (which I think I missed most of when it was on TV), but that's been derailed by dessert. Today I did the walk of shame to receive my placemat. Afterwards there was a procession, in which faculty and graduates marched from the Regent to The Square behind a man dressed as a sheep (masters at the back, presumably to keep the bachelors in line). Tonight I started running DELTA GREEN for our regular Wednesday night session with Dr Bunny Hops. And I seem to have made a convert. It's a slow-paced, realistic police procedural with a developing sense of weirdness set in a creepy ghost town in Death Valley. Yesterday evening my gas heater - which had finally been de-plasticised - inexplicibly failed to ignite. There was gas, but the piezo wasn't working. Then last night the fan heater in the cave decided that it would emit some white smoke. I got dragged out of bed to go to the market this morning, and came back with... stugg. Eggplant, capsicum and yellow zuchinnis for a roast vegeable salad (needs squeeky cheese), pumpkin chunks for a curry for tomorrow, a bag of lemons because we no longer have a domestic supply, a bag of limes, and some coffee pretzels from the Brazilians.
