I'm new to Merlin, and have been reading all the Canon Era and Canon Era AUs I can find. This one is absolutely wonderful, and the first to drive me to tears. Thinking of Merlin - bright, cheerful, loving Merlin - locked in the dungeons, talking to himself, still feeling a connection to Arthur, visits from Gwen and Gaius dwindling...god, it's making me tear up just typing about it. I'm looking forward to the rest of this.
