You heart wrenchingly captured the awful despair of Merlin being abandoned and somehow feeling that he deserves the punishment. The rescue was a relief, but with a bleak future unfurling before him, it's no wonder Merlin had little cause for celebration. His destiny shattered, his friendships and allegiances cut, all he could hope for was keeping himself alive and free.
Thank goodness Arthur took it upon himself to capture Merlin. There would have been no reasoning with him in front of other knights. Now that Arthur knows the bond is reciprocal, how is that going to change Merlin's role in Camelot? I'm off to see.
OMG That was just... incredible! I hate the way that was so blind to what was happening, but at the same time, I love and understand it! Because this is Arthur we're talking about and it makes the fact that he's allowed all of this make that much more sense.
And at the same time, I also love how Gius, Morgana and Gwen teamed together to rescue Merlin. That was so sweet and again, utterly true to character... apart from, I don't think Morgana would be so eager to help any more. lol.Anywho, brilliant chapter! I'm so glad that Arthur finally understands! I hope that things will get a little better between the two of them now. This story desperately needs a HEA!
It is a problem when someone actually has the power to make crappy stuff happen to you. :x
Ah, well, they did kind of need Morgana, though I admit I've never been all that great at getting her character down. But yes, Arthur is coming around! And thanks for sticking with it thus far, and your wonderful reviews!
Still crying. And I don't think Merlin should forgive Arthur, who's a right douche (but who I still love).
Oh my God, I have so much love for this story. I'm going to frame it and put it up in the Hall of Fame of stories in my heart; and if that sounded too cheesy, it's only because I'm so overwhelmed with emotion because of your writing and the world you've created.
