actually baekyun doesn't sound like "bacon" at all. bacon is pronounced "bay-kon" while the "baek" is more like "beck" and it's a rather soft sound. the "hyun" is a soft sound as well. and last time I checked there's no "h" in bacon.... kind of hard to write it out but I ranted about this in my voice meme and the difference is clear!

but I saw the china showcase/interview and I didn't hear bacon at all? but if there was a subbing mistake/misunderstanding I guess I understand. what I think was the person who subbed doesn't really understand korean at all so they couldn't pick it up on it - you have to listen carefully tbh

the main thing is I want is for people to understand the pronunciation is different though

I just don't like it when people say baekhyun is pronounced like bacon like it's a fact. this isn't the first time I've seen it around which is why I finally decided to say something haha. even though I don't like it people can use it as long they know it's an exo fail joke and know his name doesn't actually sound like baekhyun. Actually, the 'h' sound in Korean is kind of silent after a consonant, especially when speaking fast enough. So Baekhyun is pronounced like Baekyun, which sounds a bit like bacon I guess.

Tbh, I use Bacon because on the fly I can never remember how to spell Baekyun. I think this is possibly the first time I've spelled it correctly, lol.
