live 8, a bad idea.

k, i dont like getting political, but somethings been bugging me. this whole live 8 thing. i know bob geldoph (is that how zou spell/pronounce his name) has the verz best and informed of intentions, but i think that if political change is what he wants to accomplish, that tunring the protests into a big concert is a reallz bad idea. i mean, the g8

I think the point of the concerts was to create awareness in general, no? Just so people who have been perhaps living under a rock can now see what else has been going on. However, I think I somewhat agree.

no the point is to get the g8 to do a number of things like erase debt to third world countries etc, and to do these things via raising awareness, in the hopes that more people will put pressure on the g8. but in this case the process subverts the final goal, thus rendering those concerts pointless and counter productive, masterbatory if you will. those concert goers will put no pressure on the group of 8 and all media attention will be focused on eminem not supporting iraq and now his involvmentent in live8 rather than a serious protest and the issues. what good are hordes of mildly aware music fans without an actual protest? a mass gathering with no focus but the stage? nope, nope, this is definatelz a shittz idea. zou want to go see a concert, go to a concert, if zou want to change the waz zour government works, zou go protest it.
