This past Sunday, I woke up to a phone call from my grandmother saying my father has been arrested. I don't know all the details, but my understanding of the situation is this

I don't see how anyone could be blamed from popping out of the car fireing. If they had flashed lights. things would be different.

surely they have that camera in their car right? the one that shows they didn't do things as your father said they did, because if they don't have camera footage showing proper traffic stop procedure your father should be ok.. he needs a REAL GOOD LAWYER (all caps)

I'm not sure about the camera thing. I stopped inquiring about the case a couple of days ago. I'll leave that to the lawyer. The one he has is supposed to be pretty good.

I know that you would understand about stress, especially considering what you've been through over the past year. I really appreciate it.

Adam, that's a good thing. Being released on bond is an indication that the court does not feel that your dad has violent tendancies =\ Indeed, as a former cop himself, I have no doubt that he felt he was in some serious shit. Personally, I'd have killed them dead, but my disregard for human life is well documented, non? Think 1997.

Anyway, I'm sorry this is a shit week for you. I totally understand. My mom was charged with vehicular homicide once upon a time and managed to get out of it, and she didn't even have nearly the extenuating circumstances your dad had. Aggrevated (is that spelled right?) assault be damned, that's self defense pure and simple.
