they looked like statues.

perhaps they were. =:o

do you know if that was the restaurant's motif? the custom is to wear white to signify mourning/death in many asian and some middle eastern countries. maybe it was a wake, though i hope not.

it sounds like you've had a very pleasant trip. i'm so envious!!

that's kind of sad. people looked happy going inside, though. must've been a motif. not a wake.

I used to live half a block away from Grace Cathedral. I walked past it every day for three years on my way to work. I miss it (which means a lot coming from a godless jew like me).

when was the last you were there? it feels so spiritual, even though i'm not religious. there's something so breathtaking about it. i could gaze at it for hours.

i feel at home there. we're going to museums this time. i've never been to a san francisco museum. i wish i could see music up there. but i doubt we'll go to a venue. we'll have to look at the sf weekly. exciting !

aw, sounds lovely. i don't think i've ever been to a san francisco museum, either. i'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. i bet the san francisco music venues would be beautiful.

Just in case you were wondering: some of the venues here are very, very nice, ( the great american music hall, the fillmore, the grand ballroom ) and then some are just like any other venue in LA ( slims & bottom of the hill - which puts on the best indie shows by the way ). I think the shows are better just because the crowds are so much better than the ones in Southern California - mostly because the people up here a generally nicer people; but that is my opinion.

San Francisco is a lovely town to visit - but not really a nice place to live, it gets old really fast. ♥
