My friend has picked up woodcarving as a hobby and has crafted a lovely little charm out of salvaged/recycled wood. I think it's one of his first creations. He's selling it on e-bay and you should go look at the lovely little box, it would make a dear little gift or keepsake.

he doesn't even consider that to be his best piece. what's extraordinary about all this is that he just started carving on a whim. right now his work is a result of playing around and experimenting, really.. i can't imagine how good he might become if he gets serious about it.
