This week has been tuition free week, and I've managed to hardly get any study done. I'm just not motivated enough when there are no classes. :( Annoying.

Yesterday I told the real estate agent that even more cracks have appeared in the ceiling. I still have not heard anything. I really want to move now!

I think I've worked out what story they're covering.

The Brown Garden SnailThe biologist in me found herself googling brown snails. When I went outside last night, I noticed a big snail in one of my tiny pots. One of the units I'm taking this semester is about working in Aboriginal contexts. As I have been learning about past policies, the current problems, racism and modern prejudice against Indigenous Australians I have felt outraged, angry and sad. We got the place in Parkwood! Wow! We haven't worked out the commencement date yet, but we've got the place! I'm so happy. The new place is so much nicer! And they allow pets! Whee!
Rent inspection went well today too.

I'm moving house and dojo at the same time, I hope these are good things.

We did a few drive-by-s past some rental properties yesterday which helped cross a few off the list. Today I'm going to go view one which seems pretty good. I have my fingers crossed. It's the same price as where we are now, a bit smaller but newer. 2 bed 1 bath unit, single lock garage in a nice little group of units. It's close too. I really like ( Read more... )

Well the time has come to move house again. We don't have to, but cracks have just appeared where the roof has already been fixed, and we're a bit sick of it. We've been here for almost a year and now just feels like the right time to move too. So the lease expires on the 20th of September. This degree has a lot of work in it! I think I was pampered by the Asian Studies department before.
I am so glad that I left my job so I could focus on this. If I hadn't done it earlier, I'd be doing it now, that's for sure.
