I couldn't agree with you more Liza. If you want to be a interpreter you want to be a interpreter so what its a job and you love doing it what more do you need. If you don't want to go to college so be its your descion and a wise one if you don't think you would enjoy college in the first place. And even if you regret not going to college its not like the doors close as soon as you decided to pursue another career. You can always go back to college anytime you want if you choose to do so and pursue a different field then sign lang,(I forgot how to spell the rest of the world) if that is what you choose. You have a idea of what you want to do and a passion for it, and thats a lovley thing that makes you beautiful and all the more powerful for it. I am so glad my mom gave birth to such a strong willed beautiful black child. You are the black light at the dinner table. Rock on sister rock on.
john, you are awesome! and i love you lots, and also, lang. spelled language. it's cool, i forget sometimes, too, that's why i just sign it in sign language. =)
I really believe it's what you do with yout education, not where you get it. The only reason I'm here is because it's where I feel comfortable and somewhere that will expand my mind and stretch me to the limits.... Go where you will be able to grow in all ways, because that is the ultimate goal (hopefully).

What I got out of my 4 years in college was not the academics. I could not tell you one academic thing I remember from my college days. What I did get from college that has lasted for the past 25 years was huge personal growth and development. I learned organizational skills, time management, how to work AND live AND play with others! I was exposed to so many classes in subjects I had never been exposed to before like Philosophy which caused me to reevaluate my thoughts and opinions on things. I met people from all different cultures and ethnicities with different beliefs and thought patterns than mine. I gained confidence and self-assuredness. I was challenged personally, academically and emotionally and I rose (not without a struggle at times)to the challenge. College isn't just about books. In fact, it is the rare person who decides at 18 what they want to do careerwise and then majors in that subject and sticks with it for the next 50+ years. In fact, no one I know is working in the field they majored in in college. Statistics

hey wesside,
did ya hear they are building a brand new Interpreting building at C of C and they are starting a deaf interpreting major? Exciting news isn't it? And according to Phillip, Kellie and Caleb are starting an Imagine That program in Charleston so you can continue to be the victim.
