Drink Run Drink Run Drink

Surgery scheduled...
I'll be having my ACL replaced on June 1. Wish me luck! Now I have to decide what kind of graft I want. My doctor said if it were his knee he'd go with the cadaver. That eliminates the issue of compromising my other ligaments by cutting grafts from them and the recovery is supposed to be easier. It is kind of weird to think about having some ( Read more... ) -

He told me to just pick a date, find a location and send the invitation for approval to [Client] before sending it out to the committee members. What do you mean my ACL is gone?
That was pretty much my response to the doctor after he gave me the results of my MRI on Monday. I mean, I've been running 10K races and working out like mad since I was injured in October. How could I do these things with a torn ACL? Furthermore, why wasn't I in more pain when it happened? And what about all the swelling you're supposed to ( Read more... ) -
Skeeters
Well, it's officially spring in the south. The skeeters have arrived and since I am their meal of choice, I'm always the skeeter-sentinel. I was outside for just a few minutes yesterday and now have 2 bites. Nowhere close to my July average of 12 bites per leg but nevertheless irritating. Sensory overload
On Monday night I returned from one of the best trips I've ever taken. There were six of us - one celebrating a birthday, on with a birthday and upcoming wedding, another about to start a family and the other three of us just celebrating the other ladies in California.

Owie
Ok, so I have a 10k race this weekend. Normally I'd be pretty excited about it. Not this time. It's going to be balls cold Saturday morning and I'm still recovering from my stupid knee injury in October. Although it's pretty much healed and doesn't really bother me, it's still not as strong as the other knee. What's interesting is that because ( Read more... )
