The visit to northampton was like a Charles Butterworth performance: satisfying, yet with a strange aftertaste. It's nice to be out of there, but at the same time it's not so nice. People don't like Harold because he isn't exactly an auteur. But that's really the only reason. Somehow 'auteur' has become the last word in ingenuity. Suddenly you can't have any good thoughts or be interesting unless you do everything yourself. i don't get it. how did this happen? -

A Wand'ring Minsrel I
College is funny. A lot of posers, also a lot of frugality, which is more pften than not a good thing. It's nice to meet people who are as judgemental as I, and who also resent the good-looking people on the floor and refuse to associate with them. Books are expensive, but what isn't?
