My second year of medical school has started. I'm still spending a little time each week in my lab because it feels like home. It's midnight on a Saturday and I'm drinking my coffee. There's no extreme urgency -- I have a test on Friday. I don't know. It just felt like a good time to start drinking coffee and thinking.

Two great things have happened by default -- it's become a new year and I've begun my second semester of med school. I've spent the day reading and taking notes, reading and taking notes. It was a wonderful day because I went to yoga in the morning and ate healthy and delicious meals with good company.

Boston life is done. Boston is now a place to visit, to vacation. I'm still thinking about the relationship that I left behind. I broke down crying when the pilot announced "Welcome to Dallas," and then cried tears of joy when I passed a poster for UT Southwestern Medical Center while walking through the airport ( Read more... )
