And i'm not saying that as an attempt to cheer you up. I'm saying that meaning exactly what it says. You are amazing. You think about these things, and you are still a caring and nice person.

I'd agree that the world is full of negative things; natural disasters, disease, crime, etc. We can feel sympathy for those affected, but either we decide to make things like this our life, or we realize that if we get too upset at every sad story then we'll be sad forever. why not get happy every time you hear of something remotely happy? true, there arent exactly hurricanes of happiness, but there are other things I think ( ... )

People get really turned off by me when I want to make them realize all of these things. I think about it too, Madeline. I think about it all the time and it fucking brings me down. I lose sleep at night because I think about all the destroyed children in Sudan and how our fucking President doesn't want to help because, frankly, what have they got to offer us in return. But i deal with it by doing things. I deal with the US's environmental faults by being vegan. I deal with unjust political arrests in other countries by writing letters. I deal with racism by encouraging my friends to love other people even if they're not like them. That goes for socio-economic standings as well. We're so privelaged, yet we're so cursed at the same time. I guess since we've got arms and legs that are functional, stomachs satiated with food, and enough education to form sound comprehensions of what's going on, we might as well do what we can with what we've got. I don't know if this really hits the spot of what you were talking about, but, I can sense ( ... )
