This holiday/birthday season seems to be all about an influx of money for us, from generous relatives to an upcoming new job. Some things (recent news, particularly) make me relieved we don't have a television, so I can browse news sites at my leisure, when I'm mentally prepared to be disheartened. I learned recently that it's not uncommon for people to have kinesthetic memory of something, as opposed to audio/video memory (and, er, olfactory memory?). I thought this was interesting.
