Maltese Falcon (1941) is my favorite movie. Now I knew about the Satan Met a Lady version from 1936, but I just discovered the 1931 version with Bebe Daniels and Ricardo Cortez. While Satan Met a Lady seems to me like the actors are lip-syncing Bogie et al, the 1931 version is more than a little different. ( Read more... )
