Finding a new (used) car is so freaking overwhelming. I am so scared I'm going to buy a car and drive down the street only to have it die on me and then I'm stuck with a couple thousand dollars down the drain

It is pretty standard to get a used car checked out by a mechanic before you buy.

My brother sometimes knows of used cars for sale, and they are usually toyotas. I'll ask if he know of any right now. :)

Hopefully very soon! I found a great car yesterday and took it for a test drive. I'm going to take it to a mechanic today and if it checks out, I think I'm good to go!
