It's the largest city in Tennessee and has a lot of crime, Casey's mom says it's pretty dangerous. Lots of jazz and Elvis.

Hmmm. I wonder how dangerous it is just to work there, but to live outside the city. Like in AR.

I have a meeting today with Leo, my district manager. Leo is leaving in a few months to open a new franchise (as the operating partner) in Memphis, TN and the surrounding area. I'm meeting with him to discuss the the opportunities that will become available there. OMG if you moved outside Memphis you would be within driving distance of me when we move back home! Squee!

Anyway. I worked in the heart of Memphis several years ago, and it was fine. No more or less crime than most major urban cities. I grew up about 40 min. outside there, and loads of people are relocating from the city to the suburbs like the place I was raised. It'll always be home to me, so I probably have some rose-tinted glasses, but whatever you want to know about it, just ask! :D

Tipton County - same place I grew up. :) About 45 miles north of Memphis.

Oh and we are looking at the suburbs. Someone at IOW recommended Marion or Cordova. CHris is talking to his boss Monday. I'm hoping that they give us a couple of plane tickets to check it out.
