Gracie looks like she is so smart, just eyeing the camera there. Greys are wonderful birds.
I never had diamond doves. They are very pretty, but they do pluck other birds' feathers sometimes. They seem like really pleasant birds to keep though. Small, nice cooing, like you said. Not messy, from what I've heard. And hardy, I've heard too. Let me know how you like them.
This is a gorgeous weekend, isn't it. I am so hoping we are actually going to stay with nice weather for a while now.
Gracie is a doll. I'm in love. She is a bit skittish though. It will take some time until I can pet her.
The doves seem to be getting along fine. They are jostling the finches a bit for the best perches, but I got another nice wood one - I forget the name right now - and then they should all be happy.
I'll take your word for it on the second picture but the flowers and birds are lovely. Especially Gracie. She's beautiful. Obviously she adopted you because she felt you needed a pet in your life...
Serious spring fever! I stopped at Home Depot the other day and came home with 8 over the deck rail planter holders, and 8 planters. I'm already plotting what is going to be planted where. Then on Sunday, when it was again almost 60F! I perused what was in the shed so I knew what other planters I had to work with.
And soon the pond will be thawed and I can turn on the pump! Waterfalls! and soon after that, add Koi.
The cats all want to pet her tail feathers. Nani is the most taken with Gracie. She just can't get enough of her. It is hilarious.
I am keeping a close eye on Topaz, though. He is still chattering at her like 'ooh, lunch, come to papa' - I don't think he could really hurt her, she'd likely hurt him. But still, we're going slowly.
A friend of mine had a similar parrot, and her Persian girl, Balou, used to rub her back against his cage. And he'd get mad and try to bite her, but his beak couldn't get hold of her fur; too fine and silky and it just slid through his beak.
So then he's just destroy his dishes out of frustration because he couldn't get a kitty bite. :p
