Motherboy - FFA Post #179

Why hasn't Motherboy, the traditional dance attended by a woman and her son, taken off in fandom? It's not any wackier than a coffeeshop AU.

So, there's thing inspired by an XKCD comic called the Up-goer 5, which you can find here: http://splasho.com/upgoer5/

It spellchecks your writing so that you have to create sentences using only the 1000 most commonly used words in the English language. Some of the movie descriptions done with it are hilarious, and I want to see what meme can come up with! So, if you're in the mood, write a description of your favorite canons using the Up-Goer 5 and let other nonnies try to guess what it is.

[An easy one to start]A boy has really good powers but lives with a bad family in a small place. His uncle and aunt hit him and give him no food many times. One day it is the day he became a baby. A flying animal is at his door with a letter. It is a letter for good school in a big big house far away where there is an old man and many children. His uncle and aunt are really mad and they all drive away to a little house far away. A big man with a pink rain thing comes and makes his not brother a pink heavy ... )

It's not, but you could probably use many of the same words to describe Homestuck! Particularly "kids," "game," and "kill." It's just missing "fun."

I cracked up at "that kid gets to leave" and I don't even know why.

This sounds like that Japanese novel I've been meaning on reading. The one that's supposedly better than the Hunger Games?

A man from space who dresses weird goes through time and space in a blue police box that's bigger on the inside with human people who are usually cute girls, saving the day from bad people in weird ways.

...It's sad that that's almost how I'd describe it anyway.

The Doctor is a not human with a blue phone box with an inside that is bigger than its outside. The box goes through time and space, and the doctor keeps humans and fixes problems that he finds while going with the blue phone box. The Doctor knows many people who cause problems, usually they are also not human, some look like humans, some look like humans but made of stuff, some don't look like humans at, the worst ones look like things which hold dried food that makes other food different. Sometimes the Doctor changes faces or loses his humans and that's sad.

A young fighting man with a hurt leg saves another young man from being killed in a fighting ring and then buys him (because in this place and time people can own others). The first man's father lost something important to their people, which made everyone think bad thoughts about him. The son thinks if he gets it back, he will make everyone happy again and they will like his father again (although his father is dead now). And he tells the other man that he is not owned anymore but is his friend ( ... )

They get married and they grow things in the land. But the girl is important.

A sad girl with dark hair loves a happy girl with pink hair and does the same things many times to help her not to die or be bad and sad for always. There are some other girls there too: a girl with blue hair, a girl with light hair, and a girl with red hair.

They all made a deal with a weird animal thing but the weird animal thing did not tell the truth, and the girls will all die or be bad and sad for always.

In the end the happy girl with pink hair dies so that all of the other girls who ever made a deal with the weird animal thing will not have to die or be bad and sad for always. The girl with dark hair is sad but she knows that the girl with pink hair will be with her for always.

These are stories (set over a hundred years ago) about a man who knows everything, or it looks like he does, made to look like they are written by his best friend who is a doctor. When bad things happen, and the police don't know who did them, they come to these men. The man looks at the ground or at a dead person's shoe or at a mark on a wall, and says, "I can see right away who did it!"

There are also movies and shows about these men. Some of them are set now, instead of in the time of over a hundred years ago. And in some of them, the doctor is a woman. Also in some of them, they are both animals.

The Final Problem and the Empty House make about as much sense here as in Canon:

The man who knows everything has a fight with a teacher who writes about space and numbers and who is also a bad person. They go to a large rock above water. The man leaves a note for his doctor friend. The doctor thinks that the man is dead, but he is actually pretending. Three years later, he comes back to tell the police who was doing the bad things. The teacher had a friend who wanted to kill the man with a gun, but he hit a pretend man instead.
