Vegan anon here, I'm eliminating soy for a while to see if it's what's causing my allergies to play up so badly of late. This sucks because I have serious love for tofu.

One of my main tofu-delivery systems is stir-frying, so I'm wondering if people have suggestions for protein-y things to put in vegetable stir fries that are not soy-based. Cashews, maybe? I'm open to all suggestions/recipes that don't involve mushrooms!

I love beans myself. If you go with Indian flavours, you're pretty much set. Chana masala is my favourite, but rajma's a close second. I'm not sure about Chinese or Thai flavour profiles - I just throw beans in my Chinese dishes anyways, but I'm not sure if that's authentic.
