It probably says something about me that my first reaction on hearing David Bowie's age at time of death was "That's so young!"

My mother's about the same age (she turned 69 in Nov), and she had a breast cancer scare a coupla years ago. She survived, but it's still rather too close a reminder of one's mortality.

RIP David Bowie.

Judging by what I've heard of his last album, he made art out of his dying. Which is so very very Bowie.
