At long last, after much planning and moving things around and organizing and painting and slipcovering and building furniture, I have a fully functional, dedicated sewing room! A sewing room would be nice but the apartment isn't big enough. Our daughter gripes that she can't have friends over since the living room has the cutting table and the dining niche has the sewing machines on the table.

Yep, that's what I lived with for, oh, 10 years. I finally convinced my husband that we have guests so seldom, it was silly to keep a "guest room" when I could put that room to much better use. The great thing is that we can still use the room for guests by using an air bed.

But then again, I don't have kids. ;-)

Ah, but when you have no guest room- 3BR apartment, one for us, one for Das Kinder, and a office/storage room.

Kat goes off to school (in Roanoke) in August but we'll still have a room for her.
