It feels rude to leave an anon message but I don't have an LJ account and having just reread this again it feels ruder NOT to comment.

I love so much about this, the pacing, the characterisation, the fascination Chekov has with Sulu from the first moment he sees him. It's like he's started down an inevitable path before he even knows Sulu's name. Love how Chekov deceives himself that he's 'allowing' the affection to pacify Sulu, then the panic when he realises how deep in he actually is. Your wonderful Sulu, who comes across as such a caring, compassionate person, and how do you even do that when we just have glimpses of him through Chekov? Truly, this warms my heart!

Thanks so much for your comments about the pacing/path aspect -- I was trying for a dreamlike feel, something slow and steady and inexhaustible like Sulu's influence on Chekov itself, and to hear that may have gotten across is a wonderful thing.

Gosh, I don't even know how to describe how this made me feel. I mean, having read several of your works, I'm impressed but gosh...

I really hope you write more for this couple (yeah, I'm biased :P), and write in general because I really do love your style. I love the pace you set in the story, the revelations and the simplicity of it all.
