Lush

So I have been thinking of trying LUSH lately, but man it isn't cheap. I wanted to try their shampoo, conditioner and sleep balm, but I am to chicken to fork over that sort of cash and not like it. Can any of you all give me your thoughts on their products? I wanted to go to a better for my hair shampoo if I could.

I've only used their stuff once, but I'll tell you this much: The shampoo stank to high fucking heaven and the conditioner wasn't much better. I could smell the overwhelming scent of the shampoo all day, too, and even after I washed my hair the next day with regular shampoo, I could STILL faintly smell it. I think because it is organic, it just does NOT smell very good. It may be incredibly good for your hair, but I'd have to find something that smelled better before I could use it on anything like a regular basis. I'd say don't buy anything without smelling it first.

Which shampoo did you use? I've never had a problem like that with any of their products.

It was the Daddy-o shampoo. It smelled like... like I'd just dyed my hair and then tried to cover it up with some kind of vanilla/floral scent that only made the smell more intense. It literally drove me crazy all day long.

Yes, I have heard the scent of this one can be off-putting. lastwordy_mcgee October 1 2007, 20:04:41 UTC
It's a very love or hate product, with almost no one in the middle.

Ravenbard brought me some Lush bathbombs and things for Xmas once. They were really cool! I haven't tried the shampoo though

I've never tried their products, but a lot of the ladies on the Long Hair community didn't like their shampoo and conditioner products - and I've heard lots of complaints from folks with allergies about the products being way too highly scented.

I LOVE LUSH. LOVE. lastwordy_mcgee October 1 2007, 19:26:48 UTC
I use Big shampoo, several of their solid shampoos for travel, American Cream conditioner, Flying Fox bath gel (I sometimes use that as shampoo as well, to great effect), and several LUSH moisturizers. I am a big fan of their company and their products.
Which items in particular are you interested in? I might be able to send you some samples.

The big shampoo, a conditioner for fried hair, and that night balm to help me sleep.

I've been using their Seanik shampoo bar after swimming, and it's lovely. Some Lush stuff is severely overpowering, scent-wise, but some are really lovely. I went for Seanik mostly because it's got a light scent.

Not a clue on the conditioner.

I have the sleep balm - so long as you like lavendar it's lovely and nice and relaxing. Try it on your wrists as well as your temples.

I don't know if it even exists in the US, but my favourite shampoo and conditioner are Aussie. They're not exactly cheap either, but they are much cheaper than Lush.
