Rambling work stuff.

I don't know how I always get stuck in these crazy work dilemmas but I've been agonizing over this for the better part of the weekend. Now I'm up ridiculously early thinking about it and trying to decide what to do ( Read more... )

Colleagues make or break a place of employment. Sorry yours suck. I can't offer you any advice. I hope it all works out for you, though.

I agree. There are jobs I still miss because the people were so fantastic.
Thanks for the support. And sorry you're so tired!

I like any of the options that involve going back to school. Honestly, I think #1 is your best bet. If you work part-time, you won't have to make the commute as often and, like you said, you can add on a day or two of hospice. You know the routine and you know the people and, like you said, it's comfortable. #s 2 and 3 sound a bit chaotic, but I think of those 2, #3 is your best bet because you're working with kids again and only have to work 3 times a week.

I'm leaning towards #3. I'm going there today to fill out a formal application and see what they offer me, money-wise. If it's decent, I'll probably take it. It's only 4 hours of chaos per shift, mostly, and I can do anything for 4 hours.
And working 3 days a week again would be awesome.

I'm not gonna suggest what you should do...because I simply don't know you well enough yet. But, I will offer my 2 cents worth (which may not even be worth that much)

While its great to love the people you work with, its really not the most important thing if you love the work. It is important to be able to work with those people effectively and to be in an enviroment that is condusive to bringing out the best in the people working there.
Not liking your co-workers is not a reason to leave, but staying because you're comfortable isn't a good reason either. You need to think about where you want to be 5 or more years from now. If your current job ain't it and won't lead to it, then its time to leave for something that will. That's what it really all comes down to.

I don't think I helped at all.

Hi. I'm popping over on a recommendation from imabadkitty. I understand you are quite remarkable when it comes to bento boxes. Looks as if we have a few people in common and a handful of common communities. Do you mind if I add you?
