And, on top of everything else, one of my ATM card numbers was stolen today and someone spent a bunch of my money at a BJS, of all places -- and while my bank was VERY quick to turn my card off (they had done it before I had even called), they are NOT being as helpful about getting my money back. that is...not awesome. I bank with Wachovia and I really like them. I had someone steal my details from paypal and they put my money back in pretty much immediately. Of course after that paypal also refunded me about a week later so I had to sort out not having the money twice, but it wasn't anything close to the hassle it could have been.

Wow, I didn't know what to say to your earlier posts, and I still don't. Here's hoping the universe gives you a break some day soon.

Advice from a foreigner probably isn't useful, but I'm happy with HSBC. They've been pretty good about calling me occasionally to verify dodgy-looking transactions, but not so often as to be annoying.

Grah, that sucks.

Another happy HSBC customer here. They're pretty great about just about everything I've had to deal with (including someone trying to use my card to buy a ticket on Air Asia, which they were unable to do b/c of inefficient funds). HSBC has been pretty great about that.

I've had the worst exeriences with banks lately and I've plowed through accounts with 3 of them. I guess they all suck.

except HSBC. My aunt (whom I travel with) is with them and according to her they can do no wrong
