I am glad to read that you have had such a wonderful vacation! I must say, I do think this is quite possibly one of the most AWESOME entries you have ever written! :D

Thanks so much for the recipe, I cannot wait to try it out, but I have a question: Where you say "1/4-1/2 tomato", do you literally mean a quarter to half of a tomato, or one fourth to half a cup of tomato?

BTW, garlic is ♥! :P

literally, 1/4-1/2 of the tomato itself. and garlic IS love!!

hah, i'm glad you enjoyed it... as i was writing it i was thinking, dude nobody is going to read this--it's so long and, um, boring? i dunno, cooking and cleaning aren't the most compelling of topics.

you should sell your notebooks half-full of sketches online! i do not doubt you could make at least thirty bucks off of them! hell, i would buy one for forty!

i love my magic bullet!

OK, i blow at cooking, but this sauce is really full of the veggies i need to eat. SO about how many minutes did you leave the roasted veggies in the oven?

i know it's a novice question, but trust me when i say i will mess that up.

happy go see such a lovely entry!

seriously, i can't tell you--it depends on your oven, the size you dice your veggies, and how soft you like them to be... i never time when i do roasting, i just stick around and keep an eye on it. you will be able to smell them when they start to brown up; as soon as one side browns, flip them over, and remember it will probably take less time for the other side. i like mine pretty soft, especially for when i am going to puree them, so i know they are done when i can easily smoosh the squash and tomatoes with a fork. after you do it once, it'll be easy because you'll have a good idea of how long it takes for you.

hope that helps :P

Magic Bullet?! Yeah-ah! Best infomercial since the Hoveround.

That recipe does sound wonderful, though. I might have to try it when our farmer's market comes back...and, erm, when I gain access to an actual oven. Toaster oven-ing that sounds like a disaster in the making.
