we had a large boom lift up at the philadelphia naval yard. this thing is about tractor trailer length, ment to get a person up 65 feet in the air, weights like 20,000lbs, cost about $80,000 new. they were taking it off a boat and back on to a dock. the main cable on the crane carrying the lift snapped an the lift fell about 30ft to it's death ( Read more... )
