Finally got around to updating my academic web site. Decided to learn a bit about HTML5 and CSS3 in the process. I've been able to validate that my whole site is HTML5 compliant, although the CSS validator has not been behaving ( Read more... )

Page looks fine to me (Chrome/Ubuntu Lucid). You do have a typo though -- "Bucknell Univeristy CS Department".

How's everything going?

Nice catch! I never run spell checkers on my websites for some reason. Probably because I spend forever just trying to get the layout the way I want it. Still looks pretty bad in IE6, but what are you gonna do? :)

Looks good, Dr. Markstrum! I think this might be the first faculty website I've actually looked at for someone who was in grad school the same time I have been. I've had other friends graduate, of course, but never looked for them online it seems.

As you may remember, in comparison to you and bellwethr, I might as well be illiterate when it comes to computers. I can't even tell you which version of Firefox I have open right this minute without wasting a good deal of time. The first time I clicked on your calendar link, it flashed an error message that was replaced by the calendar image so quickly that I could barely read the message. Something like "XML Processing Error"? But of course I can't get it to repeat. It was more like a delay in loading the graphic (because my computer is SLOW) than an error anyway. So I am probably causing more trouble by mentioning it than I am helping...

I blame Google for that error! (It probably actually was their fault because I'm not doing an XML processing.) :)

Thanks for checking my page out. It was fun to make the new website, although I should probably put my research on it eventually. Suppose that's one of the main purposes of an academic site.

Been enjoying your food adventure updates. I'm hoping to be able to do a bit more myself now that Tingting and I live closer to one another.
