I was cutting through a butterfly garden when I stirred up a nest of baby basilisk lizards. Those are the lizards that run on their hind legs and can run across water. In 1979 or 1980 I was snorkeling under a bridge in Miami. It was almost dusk and I was heading back towards shore. It was then that I saw a 4 to 5 feet long Nurse Shark swimming through the water. I have seen dozens of sharks over the years but this one was memorable because it was glowing. The shark was glowing green like a fading glowstick. ( Read more... )

My current video indulgence is “The Hero Yoshihiko And The Devil Kings Castle”. Imagine if Japanese Monty Python made a parody series based on the old “Dragon Quest” games and you have an idea of the show. You know you have had enough whiskey when you find yourself barking at a dog.

For Memorial Day I went with friends to the beach.  It was a glorious day of snorkeling a reef and relaxation.  We were alone most of the day.  It’s a remote beach that requires a mile walk to reach.  It’s worth the walk to be alone on one of the busiest beach days of the year.

I dislike Facebook and haven't used it in a long time. I remembered I have a LiveJournal, struggled to remember login information but got back in. I think I'll start using it again. If anyone I know is still around, let me know.
