I wanted to comment on this earlier, but after I finished reading I was too shattered, too speechless, to form any sort of coherent anything.

Except that I still can't, not really, not with words or anything because this fic--just thinking about it--gives me all the feelings and it's so painful and beautiful and tragic and sweepingly epic.

I adore Cersei, but--and maybe it's because I've not gotten to one of her POV chapters--I've never really understood her. Not exactly. But the way you've written her and the voice you've given her are everything I imagined, but, I don't know, better? It's like I can see Cersei in a way I always knew was there, but could never articulate, if that makes sense. It probably doesn't.

What I'm trying to say, basically, is that the way you've written her is stunning. The way her relationships grow and change and decay breaks my heart. Her interactions with her youngest daughter and her last night with Ned, especially--god. I CAN'T ( ... )

Oh man, thank you so much!

But the way you've written her and the voice you've given her are everything I imagined, but, I don't know, better?

I -- there are no words how flattered I am to hear this. Cersei is a tricky character! As of now, I'm just finishing the third book and have yet to reach a Cersei POV chapter (though I admittedly did skim some of her chapters in the fourth to get a sense of her POV for this haha), and I feel like the lack of her POV makes it hard to get a handle on all her motivations. But it also made it a lot of fun to mess around with while writing this, haha.

I am so, so glad to hear you enjoyed this! I am pretty sure Cersei and Ned and any notion of romantic entanglements between these two has eaten my brain, haha. I am definitely hoping to write more! They won't leave my brain alone!

MAYYYYYYYYYYY! Aughhh, this entire comment! MY HEART, haha! Thank you so much, boo. And you are absolutely making sense, and I am completely flattered by it! Man, a slow-burning, building relationship, especially one that utilizes the trope of WE ARE FORCED TOGETHER AND DON'T LIKE EACH OTHER, is one of my favorites, haha. CLEARLY, I HAD TO WRITE THIS! But I am so glad all these different emotions and ~feelings came through.

There is just something so romantic about that either way, but almost more given that Ned had to familiarize himself with her and she with him. That they shouldn't fit, but did. Feelings. Yessssssss, exactly! FEELINGS™. And ugh, I had so many feelings ending this. A part of me wanted to be all YO GUESS WHAT EVERYONE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER, AT LEAST UNTIL THE NEXT KING TOO THE THRONE BUT THAT WASN'T FOR A MILLION YEARS! But alas. GRRM world, heads will roll. But yes! I agree that in any universe Ned Stark would love his wife and children -- his honor will always be his undoing! I also think that had Cersei ( ... )
