I am so surprised at how emotional, really, I am right now. Their scene in the godswood is one of my favourite scenes in the books, and you caught them both so perfectly. Oh Cersei. You wrote her marvelously here, and it just goes to show how entirely different Ned and Robert are. I love that their friendship sours, and that Cersei still needs Jaime but she needs Ned as well. The very last part was incredible, with Cersei and Myranda. Probably because it mirrors the books so well. It's a perfect ending.

Thank you! The scene in the godswood is one of my favorites as well, and definitely the inspiration behind writing this, haha. But thank you so much for the comment! I am so glad to hear you enjoyed this!

I just finished reading this and WOW. You create such a vivid alternate setup here. I love that Jaime is still self-involved while Cersei's far more sympathetic than in canon solely because of the different route that this fic has taken and the way their characters would develop in reaction to it. I like the personalities of Cersei's children, as well. It's weird to read about a Westeros where the Stark children don't exist, but you defined these four so efficiently that I can picture them clearly. Cersei's paranoia about incest + her children was so interesting. I was always wondering where that was in canon, but I think here it's a reflection of her own growing unease in her relationship with Jaime.

And, of course, your prose is gorgeous. It's clear and succinct, but poetic. And before I start adjective-bombing you, I just want to thank you for writing this. :)

This is so PERFECT and AMAZING on so many levels. I love Sean and Lena so much, but it never occurred to me *ship* their characters, but this...Oh, Ned! And Cersei! Exactly as they are, as they should be, and more - you've given Cersei in particular a richness and vulnerability that she seems to lack in the books.

All AU stories should be this *right*, this beautiful, this real.

I am sobbing. This was amazing, everything I wanted a Ned/Cersei AU to be. Thank you for writing this.
