Oh my goodness this is one of the most brilliant GoT fics I've ever read!! =O
Flawless, flawless characterizations of Cersei, Ned, and Jaime; and Tywin and his ruthlessness and Tryion and his perceptiveness were wonderful additions.
Your Cersei voice is one of THE BEST I've ever had the pleasure of reading, and the entire scenario is just so filled with a melancholy hopelessness it rips my hearts to shreds (which, being the masochist I am, is really all I want in a fic hehe).
Really just brilliant all throughout, I hope you decide to write more GoT fic in the future because I would most definitely read it!! =D
I think one off the very best things about fanfic is how someone will look at th source and say "Hang on a sec, what if..." because those what if's are not only beautiful in their own right but make you look again at the source and see *more*.
I think what I love most about this peice (apart from the fabulous characterisation and the tightness of the writing, and the way you've written the relationshiops) is the central idea that you can't out run Fate and Destiny. That no matter how things played out Ned was destined to die on the steps. That brings a kind of depth and resonance to the piece that is just wonderful.
WOW I AM ONLY JUST NOW READING THIS? i'm not even sure i was aware of its existence, only i saw you reblog that ned/cersei fan video someone made that was inspired by this here fic of yours, and i was like what excuse me, let me shove these words into my braaaain. and oh, man. michelle. michelle.
this is beyond words. it makes me ardently wish that GRRM was a better writer, because this fic makes me want more of this world, and of these characters, but auuuugh his prose is so shitty! why! why can't you just write all of the books for him so i can immerse myself in this world and not have to abide terrible writing in order to do so! tearing me apart etc. no, legit.
i grew sort of wearied by ned in the show (lol the only thing i have to go on, because of aforementioned reasons), his whole ~noble, honorable shtick was infuriating because i saw clear as day that it would END IN HIS DOOM, and i cut my emotional ties before it could hurt me lawl, but oh my goddd. your ned broke my heart. i mean, your everything broke my heart, this entire

CAMILLE, I AM THE WORST AND HAVE BEEN MEANING TO RESPOND TO THIS FOR DAYS HAHA.
But oh mannnnnn, thank you so much, dude! This is high praise indeed!!!! I am like grossly flattered right now, and I have no shame in admitting that when I got your comment I was all ;kga';jfa;ldkada overwhelmed by The Feelings™. UGH WRITING THIS WAS BOTH A LABOR OF LOVE AND SO, SO, SO MUCH FUN. I am like 99% sure I will always have a soft-spot fo Ned/Cersei (and Ned and Cersei generally LOL) because of it haha.
And I agree so hard re: GRRM! I really do love the world he created with these books, but omg, his prose leaves SO MUCH to be desired. Like, bro, no one wants to read about teats or how she was red and terrible and red or whatever other garbage there is LOL.
BUT LEGIT, THIS MADE MY DAY, DUDE. I AM SO HAPPY YOU LIKED THIS. MY HEART IS FULL OF LOVE AND RAINBOWS, HAHAHA.
This was beyond amazing, particularly since the characters were all so true to their originals - save perhaps the fact that Cersei found herself able to love someone besides Jaime... though Ned was far more worthy of love than Robert, to be sure, and I certainly believed in her slowly growing feelings as you wrote them.
