Parks and Recreation - Jerry's Painting feelings. I don't know what I'm doing with myself. This is long and there are no pretty picspam accompaniments. I'M SORRY.

every time i look at it i think to myself, 'wow. what can't that centaur woman do?' )

I don't even know what to say to this post, other than I AGREE WITH ALL OF THIS SO MUCH. PARKS AND RECREATION IS FABULOUS. LESLIE IS A (CANON) GODDESS.

But yes, that moment between Ben and Andy was the sweetest. "Leslie is like the coolest ever." YES Andy, yes she is. I love how much everybody loves her.

I basically love everything about this show and everything you mentioned, and I'm so glad that Parks is in my life, for it would be missing a lot of joy if it weren't.

TOM/ANN WATCH. THIS ENTIRE POST. YES.

I have this feeling. Like, if they decide to keep Rob and Adam permanently (PLEASE, GOD, DO THIS) that someone will be made City Manager and/or run for City Councilman Dexhart's now vacated seat (that'd be an easy enough plot to sell, ffs, he's such a failure). AND I JUST ;ASLKDFJA;SKLFJ I know this show is going to go there, so it's so hard to just sit back and accept that I don't need to dread episodes and instead, I get to anticipate episodes. But not in the same way I anticipate phenomenal episodes of Who or Breaking Bad where part of that excitement is very legitimate fear for my characters. But I get to anticipate joy and laughter. This show is a gift and I don't care if it ever declines in quality (although that seems two to three more seasons in the future likely, if ever) because the perfection it's been delivering for a solid two years has already made my decade of sitcom viewing. THIS IS WHAT TV IS SUPPOSED TO BE.

I totally agree with your second point! There were elements of this episode that could be construed as silly or ridiculous - especially with the April/Andy/Ben plot - but these characters are so well-established that everything makes sense. We've already seen April and Andy act in a similar fashion before, so it doesn't seem outside the norm to have them be so bad at being adults. We've seen Leslie get revved up passionately about something, so it makes sense that she would run away with the painting.

The pornography thing was strange, but having just re-watched "Tom's Divorce" Leslie's reaction was kind of consistent with her already-established view of sex workers I think? Very second-wave feminism rather than up-to-the-minute third- or fourth-wave feminism.

I love love love Leslie's confidence in her interactions with Ben. It's so refreshing not to see someone in her position get jealous. They just know. So little buillshit in this relationship! Realistic obstacles and grounded feelings and knowing and Rachna my heart is in my ( ... )
