I'll mention the community on Deleterius as well, honestly... because this really is a concern for all of Fandom.

Thank you!

I'm not going to be able to do this on my own, especially given my lack of understand of the laws outside the DMCA.

Perhaps you could do a post on the obscenity laws in the US and how they relate to stuff on LJ?

I'll have to do research on that. Someone else could take a stab at it to. It is a moderated community but I'll let other people help.

Hi! I've just seen a link to your community, and thought it looked like a nice place to look. However once I've been here two things stopped me from joinning. Thought you might care since you ask for advices for improvement :
- the fact the comm is a plus account. I strongly dislike seeing adds, and I even more strongly dislike giving money to LJ right now by viewing them
- you start your user info by saying "in America", I don't think that's the impression you want to give (given how tongue in cheek you were), but as a non American person it makes me feel rejected.
I hope you find these points useful.

Very useful. I'll make the changes as soon as I can.

I hadn't even realized it WAS setup as a plus account. That must be their default.

Fixed.

I left in talking about the 1st Amendment and the DMCA because, while American laws, LJ is hosted in the US. Now, however, it isn't indicating it is an America only community. It is also now a basic account.

If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to share.
