wheeeeeee!! Shiny comm! :D I'm so looking forward to doing this. I claim:

5 Mars

35 You will stir up the hornets.
- Plautus Amphitruo (act II, 2, 75)

56 Everybody knows the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
‘Everybody Knows’, Leonard Cohen

I know that's one more than I have to choose, but I had the other two, and then suddenly felt the need to have Mars guarding my back. :)

Thank YOU so much for making the site shiny! We're massively excited for this community - everyone is stoked by a different fandom, right? - and having a collection of your fantastic art when we update the layouts to represent new challenges is priceless. Thank you. =D

I'm wicked excited you picked the Cohen tune. In fact, you may have motivated me to steal a listen...

Glad you're here!

Yes we all spread over several fandoms, and it'll be good to have a common place to go to. What is really sailing my boat for this challenge is the gen-specification and how much war-time story I can read into the prompts. If things go as I plan right now, the story will feature two characters I have never explored before. :)

And I'm so glad you can use my art! :D You are flattering me beyond merit.

Glad you are here too!

Yeah, the idea is for people to write/draw something in the HP fandom that doesn't feature romance per se. The work needn't be thematically war, despite the challenge's title, but there must be a provocative general moment fans would like to represent, especially now the canon is complete. I can't wait to know who's your muse! And your art is wholly meritorious.

Oh, marvelous choices. Off to make your username tag...

ETA: Will you be writing or making art? (It occurs to me knowing is helpful for tag making and added this to the FAQs, so thanks for making me think it.)

I will definitely be writing. I can't even make proper stick figures :).

p.s.- I understand that this is a gen challenge, but is it all right if romance is mentioned very peripherally?

Writer. Good to have you!

Certainly romantic relationships occur throughout general life and to forbid it would be unrealistic, so yes, it is perfectly all right showing up in the margins. Because there are innumerable HP communities for pairings, we decided to choose a different angle for our first challenge, hence the gen theme :D.

Hi. I feel compelled to introduce myself since I lurked my way over here on Friday (Couldn't help myself--my flist had no posts,I'm home from shoulder surgery, and my book took an annoying twist).

I have one question: Is it necessary to use the word prompt in the resulting drabble/snippet/fic?

I'd like to try my hand at 15 and 52. Though 57 is winking at me, too... maybe later. : )

Hello! We're so glad you lurked over - and brought your dog. Even if your flist had had hundreds of posts, we'd hope you'd be unable to resist and join us. Be well with the shoulder.

I have one question: Is it necessary to use the word prompt in the resulting drabble/snippet/fic?

No, absolutely not, and this is a good question. Your prompts can used any way you choose. They can be text in your story, or they can be inspiration for your story without being part of its content.

Ooh, 15, interesting. And 57 is winking back. I see it. ;)

Thank you for being here!

ETA: I have you as an author, yes? (For tagging organization.)

Ooh, this is an excellent event. I'll definitely be writing something! But I'm going to have to think about things a little before I claim specific prompts; I've got a couple of competing ideas and I need to see which one is going to win out.

LOL :) You and I are in the same boat - so many prompts, I don't know what I want yet!

Why doesn't RL just go away? Then we could all write lots of stories!
