“Have you taken your meds?”
Chester snorts and rolls his eyes, “Yes mom.”
Rob blushes and ducks his head but smiles when they singer wraps his arms around his waist, kisses his cheek. “Sorry,” he says, “You know I worry.”
“I know you do,” Chester smiles, “And I love you for it. What time is the interview?”
“Eleven. Are you excited?”
“Yes,” Chester grins broadly. Dead By Sunrise, his solo project, is being released next week. This is his time to shine, to prove to his fans that he’s okay now. He’s fine, thanks.
He knows he let a lot of people down over the Minutes To Midnight release - knows that at meet and greets it wasn’t a down and out that the fans wanted to meet. This is his chance to make it up to them. And to himself. To Rob, too, who has pretty much bent over backwards to help him get better.
“I love you,” Rob smiles, kissing him softly.
“I love you too.”
It’s not a lie. And, in the back of his head, he still has strong feelings for Brad but he knows he has to ignore them. He can’t let them get him down. He fucking won’t let them. Not again.
And sure, it’s been years. But he’s still tempted to call Brad up and leave a message on his cell phone saying “I’m still waiting. Just so you know.”
